Vizio - SV470XVT1A

Friday, December 11, 2009

Vizio has become over the years a dominant force in the Budget Flat panel/LCD arena. The company is now looking to enter into the profitable field of high-end HDTVs. With its XVT line which is comprised of a 50-inch plasma and a pair of LCDs, including the model we talk about here, the 47-inch SV470XVT1A. This LCD is set up in a nice glossy black finish, there is a more polished menu system, a newly improved remote, and the 120Hz dejudder processing. This is standard on many high-end models from other manufactures including Sony, LG, Samsung and Mitsubishi. On paper Vizio is showing a big effort to compete with the established big boys of the industry. Vizio actually succeeds in many ways, beginning with the superior color and generally excellent video processing, however there is some unsteadiness with the dejudder.

While the SV470XVT1A may not be able to match the black levels of many of its competing displays, it is priced very aggressively. This is least expensive of all the 120Hz equipped HDTV on the market today. This enhances its appeal for folks seeking that high quality within their budgets.

Equipped with a lot of glossy black, a slicker menu system, a redesigned remote, and the 120Hz dejudder processing also found on high-end models from Samsung, Sony, LG, and Mitsubishi, this Vizio makes a strong bid on paper to compete with the big boys.

This HDTV LCD makes the ideal gift at this time of the year.
